The St. Ann’s Society was organized at Assumption B.V.M. Parish on January 6, 1918. Its purpose was to give its members an ardent devotion and love for St. Ann, the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In July, the society hosts a Triduum in honor of St. Ann, a celebration consisting of Mass and devotion for three days. The closing date falls on the feast day of St. Ann, July 26th, and is the spiritual highlight of the organization. Each year on the evening of the closing celebration, a dedicated member of the organization is selected and honored for her outstanding leadership and stewardship. The 2007 recipient is Dr. Gloria Krumrai. She was presented with a trophy and a statue of St. Ann.
Four business meetings are held throughout the year, with election of officers scheduled at the October meeting. Officers for 2007 include:
President: Mary Ann Smith Vice-President: Lori Jarosinski Secretary: Lorraine Pasowicz Treasurer: Theresa Bialozynski
The St. Ann’s Society sponsors two bakes sales each year, at the parish, and shares the proceeds with the parish.
If you would like more information on the St. Ann’s Society, or are interested in membership, please contact any of the officers or call the parish office.
